The Allen & Heath QU‑16, QU‑24 and QU‑32 have now been superseded

Allen & Heath’s long‑running QU‑16, QU‑24 and QU‑32 mixers have now all been superseded by the new compact 96kHz QU‑Series: QU‑5, QU‑6 and QU‑7. These updated models feature the XCVI FPGA core, DEEP processing, flexible patching and modern connectivity options, offering a more powerful evolution of the original QU range.

Allen & Heath QU‑Series FAQ

What are the differences between the QU‑5, QU‑6 and QU‑7?

All three mixers share the same 96kHz XCVI core, DEEP processing, flexible patching and USB multitrack recording. The main difference is channel count: QU‑5 is the most compact, QU‑6 adds more I/O, and QU‑7 provides the largest input/output capacity for bigger bands and venues.

Are the QU‑5, QU‑6 and QU‑7 the successors to the QU‑16 / QU‑24 / QU‑32?

Yes. QU‑5, QU‑6 and QU‑7 are the modern successors to the older QU‑Series, offering improved FPGA processing, updated routing and expanded connectivity.

Do the QU‑5, QU‑6 and QU‑7 support stage‑box expansion?

Yes. All models work with Allen & Heath AB168, AR2412 and AR0804 stage boxes, allowing you to expand I/O for larger events or fixed installations.

What’s the difference between QU‑5/6/7 and the Dante versions (QU‑5D, QU‑6D, QU‑7D)?

The “D” models add 16×16 Dante networking for integration with amplifiers, processors, speaker systems and installed audio networks. Choose a Dante model for permanent installations or network‑audio workflows; choose the standard model for portable PA and live sound.

Which QU‑Series mixer is best for my setup?

Choose QU‑5 for compact rigs, small venues and portable PA. Choose QU‑6 when you need more inputs without moving to a larger frame. Choose QU‑7 for bigger bands, multi‑source events or installations needing more I/O.

Do all QU‑Series mixers support multitrack recording?

Yes. QU‑5, QU‑6 and QU‑7 all support multitrack recording via USB and can integrate with DAWs for live or studio workflows.
