The LAB edition of this iconic studio model, beloved by artists and music lovers around the globe, features a design created and chosen by the fans of Audio-Technica. Since 2020, the yearly Special Editions have been influenced and voted for by customers. 

The ATH-M50xLAB and its Bluetooth sibling ATH-M50xBT2LAB started its journey in January 2024, when Audio-Technica first opened its “LAB M50x”, a website that allowed fans to participate in the creation by submitting their own colour designs. Participants selected from a variety of colours, in either matte or metallic, for each headphone part, resulting in thousands of exciting and creative designs shared across social media. A panel of experts, including the product manager of the ATH-M50x, narrowed over 14,500 submissions down to three finalists. Out of these three finalists, fans of the Audio-Technica brand selected a design by Sergio Gamarra, an exciting combination of blue, orange and grey, to be made into the ATH-M50xLAB special edition.  

Since its first release as a studio headphone in 2007, the ATH-M50 has evolved continuously, bringing high-standard audio quality to a variety of end users. With the first limited special edition being released in 2012, Audio-Technica has offered customers the possibility to add a pop of colour to their set-ups or to their everyday music life. The ATH-M50xLAB marks the first ever special limited edition that has been designed and chosen by the fans, making it the most interactive model Audio-Technica has released to date.     

Building on the acclaimed sonic signature of the ATH-M50x headphones, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 headphones utilize Bluetooth wireless technology and offer the same studio-quality sound in a wireless package. The large-aperture drivers deliver deep and accurate bass response for an immersive listening experience, while the AK4331 advanced audio DAC and dedicated internal headphone amp provide superior clear, high-fidelity sound.

The ATH-M50xBT2 features dual microphones and beamforming technology, which provide improved vocal pickup ensuring crystal-clear audio call quality. Additionally, users can conveniently mute with the press of a button or access the built-in Amazon Alexa voice assistant, as well as Google Assistant and Siri.

These headphones have a battery life of more than 50 hours on a continuous full charge, with up to 3 hours of use on a 10-minute rapid charge via the USB-C connection, making them some of the longest-lasting wireless headphones available.

The multipoint pairing function allows users to stay connected to two Bluetooth devices at once, making it easier than ever to switch between tasks. You can also personalize and adjust the ATH-M50xBT2 to your preferences with the A-T Connect app. Adjust additional controls like activating low latency mode, adjust and save EQ to your headphones, change the L/R volume balance, select desired voice assistant, and more.
